Isle of Avalon

Glastonbury in Flood

Early morning sun shining on the Glastonbury Tor and the Isle of Avalon.

With the fields flooded, Glastonbury Tor and the surrounding town looks like an island as it was in prehistoric times when the area was covered with marshlands.

Isle of Avalon is a legendary place associated with Arthurian Legend. It is considered to be the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged and also where King Arthur was buried.
